AWS re:Invent 23’ Direct Mailer

Passport to re:Invent: Helping Indian Startups Take Off with AWS

A special delivery to help startups, and relationships, go places.

As AWS prepared for re:Invent 2023, they reached out with a broad ask: to create a direct mailer for a focused group of Indian startup founders heading to Las Vegas. The brief left room for interpretation, giving us the runway to lead with both idea and execution.

We were all in.

The Idea

We anchored our thinking on a simple line:

“We’d love for your startup to go places. And you too.”

That thought shaped everything that followed, a travel-inspired concept built around the idea of momentum, possibility, and partnership. The result was the Passport to re:Invent: a curated experience designed to acknowledge, encourage, and equip founders even before the event began.

What We Delivered

This wasn’t just about sending a mailer. It was about designing an experience that felt thoughtful, relevant, and aligned with AWS’s values.

01

Creative Concept & Design

We developed the “Passport to re:Invent” from the ground up, a travel-themed kit that mirrored the founders’ upcoming journey. The concept allowed us to weave utility with storytelling.

Visually, the design brought together AWS’s global brand system with subtle cues familiar to an Indian audience, refined layouts, layered textures, and locally relevant details. Every element, from the printed passport to the packaging it arrived in, was crafted to feel premium, cohesive, and human, an intentional moment that created anticipation before the conference even began.

02

Data & Targeting

Our internal data team curated a focused list of high-potential startup founders, individuals who were already attending, but whom AWS wanted to engage more deeply. The targeting was sharp, the messaging tailored, and the execution personal without being overly engineered.

03

Sourcing to Shipping

We handled everything, from sourcing premium materials and managing production to warehousing and international logistics. Each package was assembled with care and shipped in time to reach recipients before their departure.

The Outcome

The Passport to re:Invent campaign opened new doors, not just for the startups, but for AWS too. It created space for meaningful conversations and set the tone for stronger, long-term relationships, before a single session had even begun.

Recognition & Awards

The campaign was recognised for both its creative and strategic execution, banging multiple awards across categories.
